Meet Kari
Thanks to her love of Austin and its homes, and her aptitude for marketing, negotiation, and attention to detail, Kari Cooper is enjoying a successful career serving discerning buyers and sellers of west and northwest Austin real estate. Born in Oslo, Norway, Kari's early years were marked by a journey across the heart of the southern United States. From Alabama to Louisiana, and through Mississippi, her family's wanderings culminated in the heart of central Texas, where she spent her formative years and graduated high school. Kari's academic journey led her to the Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston, where she earned a degree in marketing with a minor in African American studies. Kari brings a wealth of business and applicable personal experience to her job as a real estate professional.
Spending a decade in the service industry, she fine-tuned her communication skills and learned how to meet customers’ needs. After earning her degree, she spent time as a marketing coordinator for a commercial design firm. While there, she perfected analytical and negotiating expertise, as well as her eye for architecture and the interior design tools she now calls on when assisting her clients as they prepare their home for sale. Firsthand experience is always an invaluable teacher, and Kari’s own investment in seven properties has provided her with vital knowledge. She has proven her competence at transactions ranging from dealing with banks related to foreclosures to family homes, multi-unit and development properties, ranchettes, and condos. Kari also holds the CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert) credentials, further enhancing her ability to advocate for her clients effectively.
Above all, Kari is driven by a desire to serve, help, and connect people in both her career and philanthropic endeavors. Those endeavors include Caritas of Austin, Meals on Wheels, as well as her children’s school’s PTA and Booster organizations. As the mother of three boys aged 15, 14, and 11, Kari knows quite well the importance of thoughtful action, solid judgment, and placing the needs of others first. Those are qualities she also applies in her job as a trusted real estate professional for buyers and sellers of distinctive Austin area homes. Beyond the professional sphere, Kari finds solace in the pages of fiction, channeling her creativity into interior design and décor.
